The School District technology department operates the dark fiber virtualized MPLS MAN within the communities of Penticton, Summerland, Kaleden, West Bench and Naramata. The enterprise network is comprised of redundant Datacenters fibred together with multiple "carrier grade" switches and routers. The network operates at 10GB, 1GB and 100MB speeds.
Redundant Datacenters are equipped with SAN and Blade Technologies. These centers deliver multiple shared services such as Unified Messaging, Conferencing, VoIP, ActiveDirectory, Wireless, Video, Digital Signage, Surveillance, PA's, Storage and Data warehousing. Delivery of these shared services involve 1000’s devices such as computers, tablets, thin clients, printers, access points, switches, VoIP phones, PoE Speakers and 100’s of software programs.
Our District provides shared services and network resources to various community, city and regional organizations and has status as a non-dominant carrier.
