Students may take out two books at a time.
They are due back to the library in two weeks. Students may have a maximum
of four books out at one time. If there are no reserves on the book,
students may bring the book to the library to be renewed for another two
weeks. Starting in the middle of grade one, students are required to sign
out one book that is at their reading level. The other book they sign out
may be a book that can be read to them or an interest book that they may
just want to look at.
Reservations
Students need to come to the circulation desk
to request a reserve be placed on a book. They may not reserve a book
if they have an overdue book.
Overdue Books
Students may not take out books if they have
overdue books. If the book is overdue for a couple of weeks, we declare the
book lost and ask that the book is paid for. This enables us to purchase
another copy of the book and allows our child to be able to take out books
again. If the book is found and returned to the library your money will be
refunded ~ even if it is a year later! Students are not charged an
overdue fine.
Damaged Books
Students are strongly encouraged to put their
library books in a plastic bag inside their backpacks. Often lunches
or water bottles leak in backpacks and the plastic bag offers a little more
protection from these accidents.
If a book is damaged, we ask that you pay for
the books so that we may order a replacement copy. If a book needs
repairing, please bring it to the library to be repaired as we use special
tape and glue to repair books.
