All work must be done by the student. Parent/adult assistance should be encouraged. There are six divisions - Life, Physical, Computer, Environmental, Engineering and Biotechnology Sciences. For judging there are three types of projects - Experiment, Study and Innovation.
Please encourage students to work as individuals, but exhibitors may work as a team of no more than two. Pairs of exhibitors, if they are in different grades, must enter the project at the higher grade level represented.
This website contains the information needed.
The projects must be displayed in free-standing fashion. Cardboard is the most appropriate material, but those students who plan to go on to the Regional and Canada Wide Science Fair, should consider something sturdier (e.g. plywood). The Exhibitor's Guide Page contains a link to download the Guideline Booklet.
Students requiring electricity must supply their own extension cords.
Students are responsible for displaying their project (and being in attendance at the fair) on Monday evening (for judging) and Tuesday morning for the public and student visitors.
Should there be questions or problems concerning registration, please contact:
All students entering the fair will receive a certificate of participation. Medallions and rosettes will be awarded as well. Cash prizes from Kiwanis will be given as outlined below:
| Grade | Science Project | Backdrop |
| 6-12 | Gold $25 Silver $20 Bronze $15 |
1st $15 2nd $10 3rd $ 5 |
As well as cash prizes, the top projects of the Gold medal winning Science Fair students will have the opportunity to attend the Okanagan Regional Science Fair. Up to six winners at the Regional Fair are eligible to travel to the Canada Wide Science Fair. ( Jrs., Int., Srs.).
