4 GOALS OF THE
(ABORIGINAL EDUCATION ENHANCEMENT AGREEMENT)
Goal 1: To raise awareness and understanding of Aboriginal history, traditions, and culture for all students and staff in the Okanaga- Skaha School District.
Goal 2: To increase Aboriginal student's sense of belonging, including sense of place, personal and cultural identity, and self-esteem in a caring, safe and inclusive environment.
Goal 3: To nurture and foster relationships between the Okanagan-Skaha School District and Aboriginal families, communities, and organizations.
Goal 4: To increase the educational success of all Aboriginal students.
To prominently and proudly display First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture while honoring Penticton Indian Band and to the local Okanagan culture.
To create a place in our school district that allows for students to experience five senses: sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell.
To highlight and incorporates the First Peoples Principles of Learning.
To reflect the four goals of the Local Aboriginal Education Enhancement Agreement.
