Lego Club at the Annex

New for Term 2- Lego Club!!!!

Held Thursdays 9:30-10:30am at the Annex. Refer to school calendar.
Thursday January 12th will be our club kickoff with Bricks4kidz! The cost is $5/child. All other sessions are free... apart from Febuary 23 when we will attend our second session with Bricks4kidz at Parkway... cost is yet to be determined for that session. When registering, you will have the choice of registering only for the free sessions or all of them.

Winter Celebration.... Skating Party at McLaren Arena

If you would like to attend, please register by Monday December 5th. This will ensure we have enough craft supplies and baking for everyone. All family members are welcome. You can rent equipment from McLaren arena for $2. Helmets are mandatory. They have a limited number of helmets so please try to bring your own. Snowboarding/skiing helmets will suffice.

Mon. Jan. 23- Vees Read to Succeed 11:15am
Mon. Jan 30- Lunch Waste Audit 11am
Mon. Feb 13- Paper Making 1pm
We have class Mon. Feb 6th & 20th as well but we will be going to the Nordic Center, Apex, for Cross Country Skiing. I will make a separate sign-up for X-skiing.
Monday Class Registration Term I Sept. 2011

Registration is required for students in grades K-7 who will attend (optional) Monday classes at the Home Learners' Program. Classes will run Mondays:
Sept. 19; Sept. 26; Oct. 3; (no classes Oct. 10 due to Thanksgiving); Oct. 17; Oct. 24, Oct. 31; Nov. 7 (last day for term I)


Classes run from 10:30-3:15. Registration is required. Please send a snack, lunch, water, outside and inside shoes, clothing appropriate for the weather, pencil, eraser and pencil crayons.

Trout Creek Fish Hatchery Field Trip
Monday, Sept. 26th

Field Trip: Monday, Sept. 26th - PARENT PARTICIPATION REQUIRED
Meet at Fish Hatchery in Summerland- 13405 Lakeshore Dr. S- 10:30 am
We will be given a tour of the hatchery, followed by lunch in the park and a drive to Hardy Falls in Peachland to see the Salmon Run. Be sure to pack a lunch and dress appropriately for the weather.

Performance at Parkway Elementary: Tues, Oct 4th

Meet at the Annex- 8:45am

I will walk the students over around 8:50am. The performance should be over by 10am. After the performance we will walk back together. Pick-up at the Annex for 10am.

Penticton Museum- Organisms & Their Environments

Monday, Oct 17th, we will meet at the Penticton Museum for 10:30am. We will return to school for lunch. PARENT PARTICIPATION REQUIRED for the field trip portion of the day. The cost of the program is $2/child.
McMillan Farms- Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch- and

EECO Program- Endangered Species

Field Trip: Monday, Oct. 24th, 2011             PARENT PARTICIPATION REQUIRED

Meet at McMillan Farms- #1- 3690 Berard Rd. Kelowna- 10:30am. Followed by an Endangered Species program at the EECO building at 1:30pm.

We will be given a 20 min Hayride, a chance to go through the corn maze, each child gets to choose a pumpkin and learn about their lifecycle and time to use the pumpkin slingshot, corn pit and mini train. A cookie and hot chocolate are also included. The tour usually takes approx. 1 1/2 hours. The cost of the program is $6/child.

We will then head to the EECO building, 2363A Springfield Rd., Kelowna, for a 1:30 presentation on Endangered Species. This program is by donation, recommended amount- $1/child.
