PAC UPDATE
Queen's Park should be proud - we have one of the strongest parent
advisory committee's in the district.
The Queen's Park PAC meets on the first Tuesday of every month and
we usually have to add chairs to the packed tables as we run through
the agenda. Meetings start at 6:30 and are usually done by 7:30.
Queen's Park is the only elementary school in the district that
provides childminding during the meeting - treat it like a night
out!
The PAC offers parents an opportunity to hear what is going on in
the school and to have input into some of those decisions. There is
no better place to be if you want to get involved in your child's
education.
We held elections for the 2010/2011 school year at our June 1 AGM.
Though there weren't any hotly contested seats, we saw the addition
of a number of new parents on the PAC Board. Next year's PAC will
consist of:
Chair - Jason Bloomfield (children grade 4 and 1)
Co Vice Chairs - Cheryl Woodman (child grade 4) and Allyson Erickson
(children grade 1 and strongstart)
Treasurer - Liisa Bloomfield (children grade 4 and 1)
Secretary - Lynn Gibb (children grade 4 and 2)
Communications - Kari Alex (children grade 1 and strongstart)
Co-Fundraising & Events Chairs - Tracy St. Claire (child grade 4)
and Veronika Schrank (children grade 1 and strongstart)
DPAC - Lynn Gibb (children grade 4 and 2)
Fundraising committee members are Gloria Stanley (child grade 4),
Christine Schwarz (child grade 1 and strongstart), Corrine Valleau
(children kindergarten and strongstart), Cheryl Woodman (child grade
4) and Lynn Gibb (children grade 4 and 2).
PAC meetings resume the second Tuesday of September at 6:30 - mark
it on your calendar to make sure you are there.
