Summerland Middle School has been using Renaissance Learning since March 2004. This year we are excited to move to a web based version of the Star Reading and Accelerated Reader Program. The greatest gain with this move is students can access "all" the quizzes available, not just quizzes we purchased to support books we have in our library.

If your student has a book at home and you would like to see if it has a quiz, you can check AR Book Find for availability, book reading level and points.

Please check our AR 'widget' on the front page, it updates number of books read and words read in the month.

All students take the STAR Reading test each term. This gives them their ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development) which is the zone in which they should chose book from to improve their reading skills.
