2010/11 Dry Grad Meeting

 Minutes of Dec 7th, 2010 Meeting

 

Called to Order at: 7:05pm

 

Members present:   Lisa West, Raja Gupta, Lynn Collins, Kiki Longstreet, Aura Sterk, James Lay, Lana Sewell, Elaine ? and at least 5 others??

 

Principal’s Report: Dave was not able to be present tonight.

 

Student’s Report: Raja Gupta

The students voted “New York” to be their theme this year.  They also voted on a logo for their hoodies- “On a Scale of 1 to 10, we’re an 11!”  He will ask the students to brainstorm ideas for decorating on the theme.  Cassie Erg did a great job getting student volunteers for the bottle drive.  Alyssa Hooper will be responsible for getting 12 volunteers for the Christmas Tree pick up for Jan 2nd and Jan 9th.

 

Financial Report: Pat Cook was not able to be present.

 

Committee Reports:

Fundraising- Lynn Collins

Earnings so far include Beanery Coffee $100, Purdy’s Chocolates $453.97, Bottle Drive $1546, and Nester’s $420 for a total of $2519.97.  Dave Stathers has volunteered to be the middle person for Nester’s certificates from now on.  Aura has personally mailed over 150 letters requesting donations for the silent auction.  She has hand delivered another 100 letters and sent many emails as well.  We will follow up on these after the holidays. The next fundraiser will be the Christmas Tree Pick Up Jan 2nd and 9th which should bring in another $1000 before we need to pay the 50% deposit for the entertainment events.

 

Donations- we will get going on these after the holidays

 

Entertainment- Chair was not present but Lisa read out a report stating that the total expense for the entertainment events will be $6583, with a 50% deposit due on Jan 20th. They have booked the Laser Tag, Mechanical Bull, Bungee Run, Velcro Wall, Photo Booth, Karaoke, and Rock Band Tourney.  I believe the hypnotist is also booked (an additional $1000 or was it included in the list??).

 

Decorations- Lana Sewell

This committee has met and has several ideas started regarding the New York theme. They would like the students input as well. Raja pointed out that the students always paint the large back drop for the arena photo.  This committee will take photos of their decorations and make sure they include them in the binder to be passed on next year.
