Ginny Manning is the Chair and Linda Van Alpen is the Vice Chair for the school board this year.
Parents are invited to the Personalized Learning, a vision of 21st century learning which will be held on Feb 28. Pre-registration is required. The Minister of Education will also be attending this meeting.
Okanagan-Skaha Parents for French composed a list of questions for the school board. All questions were answered in great detail.
20 more courses have been approved for SD67. No tall classes will be in each school and all courses are dependant upon enrollment. Courses included several hairdressing courses, nail technician, animation and game creation, cafeteria, learning strategies, literacy dynamics, weight training, outdoor education and speech and debate.
Principal’s Report: Events already happened: On December 2nd approximately 50 biology students went to Science World for the Body Works exhibit. The Jr.& Sr. girls basketball tournament was held on Dec 3 & 4. There was a live surgery webcast, a live Citizenship Ceremony and the winter band concert all held on Dec 8. There was a live dog sledding webcast on Dec 13. Grad photo ordering was on Dec 14.
Upcoming events: Summerland will host a SR. boys and Sr. girls basketball tournament on Jan 7 & 8. All regular league games are posted on the school website. Final and mid term exams will be Jan 24-28. The exam schedule has not been finalized yet. Second semester begins Jan 31.
University Preparatory Society is holding study sessions for final and provincial exams.
