| SCHOOL DISTRICT #67 (OKANAGAN SKAHA) - British Columbia, Canada |
"Working Together for Student
Success" |
| Location |
| School District 67 is located in the
beautiful Okanagan Valley in the interior of British Columbia,
Canada. The school district is centered around the cities of
Penticton and Summerland - about a four hour drive east of
Vancouver, B.C. and just north of the U.S. border.
The area population is about 60,000 living around two
picturesque bodies of water in Lake Okanagan and Skaha Lake,
with a world class ski resort at Apex Mountain a mere half
hour's drive. Penticton has a modern airport with daily
flights to Calgary and Vancouver. An abundance of sunshine
makes the Okanagan a very popular tourist destination, famous
for its wines, vineyards, orchards, great summer and winter
recreational activities including golf, winter sports, the
world famous Penticton Ironman triathlon, and much more. We
also boast excellent schools. |

| Our
Schools |
 |
School District 67 has over 7000
students attending 19 government-certified public schools with
the latest in technological and learning resources. Our school
district has been recognized provincially and nationally for
using technology to enhance learning and for creating
efficiencies throughout the system and community with our
fibre-optic and wireless networks. |
| Programs |
| Our schools consistently perform
competitively on the provincial level in sports, music, and
academics. We welcome International students, have joined
forces with the famous Okanagan Hockey School to form the
Okanagan Hockey Academy at the Midget and Junior B level, run
a thriving late French Immersion program, and offer an
enrichment program to gifted students. SD67 also offers a
wealth of remedial and alternative programs to suit all our
students. |
