Nov. 4/11 Began a Remembrance day poem. Will be continued tomorrow.
Nov. 7/11 Organized our Remembrance Day words into a List poem. Tomorrow we will work on the visual presentation of our good copy. Students are encouraged to be creative and think outside the box on how they would like their poem to look.
Nov. 14/11 Questioning on the Occupy Protests. Hand in in the 4 deep questions and what you have discovered.
Nov. 23/11 First day of writing strategies. Where do ideas come from - Brain Pockets activity. Leftovers if not completed in class time ( plenty of class time was allocated).
Nov. 24/11 OWI of picture with the Fireman. Wonder questions are due tomorrow.
Nov. 28/11 6 minute solution and story structure notes. No homework.
Nov. 30/11 6 minute solution, finished story structure notes and silent read.

December

Dec.2/11 6 minute solution. Began the the technical power in our writing power unit. Today's subject was adding details. read the story "Nothing Ever Happens on 90th Street" and created story strips for a story about me. the focus was on adding details. Story strip is due on Tuesday. There was ample class time provided.
Dec. 6/11 Created a story strip for "A Winter's Day" due on Thursday.
Dec. 12/ 11 "A Winter's Day" first draft MUST be done for Wednesday
Dec. 13/11 Men Wanted - Sir Ernest Schackleton's Antarctic expedition, finish the OWI.

Jan 24/12 Conferenced on our stories today. Some people are 12 days lat on completing their rough draft and need to be ready to edit on Thursday.
