Seamless Day Program at Queen's Park Elementary

Changes to SDK Early Child Care Program for 2026-27 School Year

School District No. 67 wishes to inform families and the community that the Seamless Day Kindergarten program at Queens Park Elementary will not continue in the 2026-27 school year. The district has appreciated the support from the Ministry of Education and Child Care to run this pilot program.

As this pilot is scheduled to end at the end of this school year, the district has worked with community partners to create a transition plan to continue to support these childcare spaces.

Transition Plan for Fall 2026

We are committed to a smooth transition for all affected families. As part of our plan, we are pleased to announce new partnership with Kids Connection Before and After School Care.

Kids Connection is very excited to announce that they will be offering Before and After School Care at Queens Park Elementary in the fall of 2026This program will ensure that families have access to reliable, safe, and enriching childcare options, supporting working parents and guardians in our community.

School District 67 is excited to offer a Seamless Day Program at Queen’s Park Elementary School. Seamless Day is a unique model that brings continuity of care throughout your child’s day. The Seamless Day program begins

at 7:15 am, where an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) will meet children in the Before School Care Program.  During the school day, the ECEs will support children in their Kindergarten classrooms.  When the bell goes at 2:30 pm, the children in the After School Care program will meet the ECE and remain in their care until they are picked up by their families. During the before and after school hours the ECE’s will provide play-based and developmentally appropriate activities for the children using classroom space as well as the primary pod,

playground, school garden, gym and library. The Seamless Day Program will use BC’s Early Learning Framework as a guiding document and the ECEs and Kindergarten teachers will work collaboratively designing the program and the environment.

This program is designed to provide students with meaningful relationships, a sense of belonging, excellent care and learning opportunities with the shared gifts of our Early Childhood Educators and Classroom teachers. The program minimizes the children’s transitions throughout the day and allows them to spend their time in the same familiar environments throughout the school and with the same caring adults.
