Seamless Day Kindergarten at Queen's Park Elementary
School District 67 is excited to offer a Seamless Day program at Queen’s Park Elementary School. Seamless Day is a unique model that brings continuity of care throughout your child’s day. The Seamless Day program begins at 7:30am where an Early Childhood Educator will meet children in the Before School Care Program, when the bell goes at 8:30am the ECE will help the children transition into the classroom and remain working in that Kindergarten class until 1:30pm. At 11:30 another ECE will arrive and support throughout the day. When the bell goes at 2:30pm the children in the After School Care program will meet the ECE and remain in her care until they are picked up by their families. During the before and after school hours the ECE’s will provide play-based and developmentally appropriate activities for the children using classroom space as well as the playground, school garden, gym and library. The Seamless Day Kindergarten program will use BC’s Early Learning Framework as a guiding document and the ECE’s and Kindergarten teachers will work collaboratively designing the program and the environment. Please note, the hours of the program may change based on the needs of our Seamless Day families.
This program is designed to provide students with meaningful relationships, a sense of belonging, excellent care and learning opportunities with the shared gifts of our Early Childhood Educators and Classroom teachers. The program minimizes the children’s transitions throughout the day and allows them to spend their time in the same familiar environments throughout the school and with the same caring adults.
*Registration for the Seamless Day Program is now closed for the 2023-24 school year.
