Finance
The Finance Department for School District No. 67 (Okanagan Skaha) oversees all financial operations for the district, managing a $90 million annual budget. Responsibilities include preparing the district budget; administering accounts payable and receivable; payroll; coordinating purchasing and donation tracking; providing accounting support to schools; and producing comprehensive financial reports.
School districts in British Columbia are legally required to publicly share key financial documents—such as annual budgets and Statements of Financial Information (SOFI)—to ensure transparency and accountability in how government funds are managed and spent. These reports detail financial activities, assets, liabilities, and audited statements, as mandated by provincial legislation like the Financial Information Act and the Budget Transparency and Accountability Act.
The Board of Education oversees the development of the annual operating budget, which covers salaries, supplies, services, instruction, administration, operations, maintenance, and transportation. The fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30.
The Payroll Department oversees employee compensation and benefits across the district, including salary processing, deductions, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance. It supports all staff groups—teachers, support staff, casuals, and administrators.
